2017Series A and product launch
Ironclad announces its Series A, led by Accel, and unveils its intelligent contract management platform to help legal teams automate and streamline the contracting process.
2019Series B & C, NYC office, and Apex debuts
Ironclad raises its Series B (led by Sequoia Capital) and Series C (led by Y Combinator). Headcount grows by 220%, a New York office opens, and the company launches Apex, its first summit for in-house legal leaders — laying the foundation for today’s thriving Ironclad community.
2020First Docx-native CLM launches
Ironclad releases the world’s first Docx-native editor, bridging Microsoft Word contracting workflows with digital contracting.
2021Series D, PactSafe acquisition, and Smart Import
Ironclad raises Series D, acquires clickwrap pioneer PactSafe, and launches Smart Import, an AI-powered tool to upload, tag, and index contracts — making them searchable and surfacing key insights from contract data.
2022Ironclad AI debuts, Series E raised, 1B contracts processed
Ironclad introduces Ironclad AI to power contract generation, data extraction, and analytics across the full lifecycle. The company also raises Series E funding and surpasses one billion contracts processed.
2023AI Assist launches
Ironclad launches AI Assist, a GPT-4–powered contract negotiation tool that flags risk, drafts clauses, takes a first pass at redlining, helping legal teams move faster with confidence.
